Migralex
Migralex – A Breakthrough in the Treatment of Headaches.
Migralex is a headache medication developed and patented by Dr. Alexander Mauskop, Director and Founder of the New York Headache Center. Migralex is a product of 15 years of research and development. It will become available for purchase at the end of 2009 at www.Migralex.com and www.Amazon.com.
Migralex does not interfere with Zomig or any other triptans, actually some people take them together if either one alone is insufficient. Many of my patients find that Migralex is as effective and sometimes is more effective than their prescription drugs. It also works best if taken early and with a full glass of water. However, I cannot advise any individual person about taking Migralex because it maybe contraindicated due to a bleeding disorder, stomach ulcer, allergy, or another reason. It is best to ask your doctor if you can take Migralex.
I get one to two migrane headaches per week. I currently am taking Zomig 2.5mg to help most of the time if I catch it in time. Will Migralex help with my heacaches and not interfere with my current perscription?
I cannot give you specific advice without knowing a lot more about you, including possible history of ulcers, bleeding problems and many other things. So, you need to ask your doctor, but if he or she does not object, it may be worth a try, especially because you can get your money back if Migralex doesn’t work. Make sure to drink a full glass of water when you take it. The only FDA-approved treatment for cluster headaches is injections of sumatriptan (Imitrex), although oxygen also works for many. Oxygen needs to be inhaled through a mask and it has to be at high flow rate – at least 10 liters per minute. If abortive medications do not work, preventive drugs can be very effective. These include high dose of verapamil, Depakote, Topamax, and lithium. Botox injections have relieved cluster headaches for a few of my chronic cluster patients.
I have cluster headaches. Does this medication work for the person suffering from cluster headaches. Most migrane medicines don’t work. If this works, it would be a miracle.
Fioricet with codeine can make headaches worse if taken more than once or twice a week. Both caffeine in Fioricet and codeine are proven to increase the risk of occasional headaches becoming daily, especially if there is additional caffeine in the diet. On the other hand, aspirin, which is in Migralex has been shown to prevent headaches from becoming daily. Magnesium is another ingredient in Migralex. Magnesium has a buffering effect and reduces chances of stomach irritation. Magnesium deficiency is found in up to half of headache sufferers. Migralex is formulated to dissolve in your stomach very quickly and provide fast relief.
I take Fiorcet with codein for migrain and related chronic headaches. I also had a hear attach and take an 81 mg aspirin daily. When needed tylonol or advil are recommended (in that order) no aspirin. Would this medication be recommended for me. I get headaches daily and they never actually are relieved
what other ingredients are there in this product?
Yes, it is an OTC medication; we expect it to be available in November of this year on http://www.Migralex.com. Eventually, it will come to most retail stores as well. Once it is available online you can ask your local store to order it through their wholesale distributor.
Hi,
I’m assuming this is an OTC medication, considering the two ingredients are? Also, where will this be available? Retail stores?
It is a combination of magnesium and aspirin in a rapidly dissolving form, which will provide fast relief. Magnesium protects the stomach lining from the effect of aspirin and provides additional relief of migraine symptoms. Migralex will become available at the end of this year.
What is Migralex? I’m always interested in learning more about new migraine treatments.
